Occupational Therapist - Inpatient Rehab Hospital

Location: Asheville, NC

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Job Description: The Occupational Therapist will work in a dynamic inpatient rehab setting focusing on a variety of conditions, including traumatic brain injury (TBI), stroke, orthopedic, cardiac, spinal cord injury (SCI), pulmonary issues, and general debility. This role involves developing and implementing patient-centered treatment plans and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
• Implement therapy interventions using a variety of specialized equipment and techniques.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members for patient progress and care coordination.
• Train patients and their families on home exercise programs and equipment usage.
• Monitor and manage patient safety and compliance with rehabilitation protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• A minimum degree in Occupational Therapy and current licensure to practice in North Carolina.
• Experience in an inpatient rehab hospital setting is preferred.
• Proficiency in safe patient handling techniques.
• Familiarity with protocols related to skin integrity, bowel/bladder programs, and adaptive equipment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with critical thinking and time management abilities.
