Temporary STP-K 2026 Counselor

Job Summary We are hiring STP‑K Counselors for an interim assignment starting June 1, 2026 through July 31, 2026. The role is a 7:30 AM–5:30 PM day shift with potential extra evenings for parent‑training groups. Counselors receive $15.00/hour (≈$5,160 for the two‑month term) with overtime pay for hours over 40 per week and additional up to $500 for summer evening work if applicable. Responsibilities Lead daily academic centers (English/Language Arts, Math, Science, Writing) and sports activities (soccer, kickball, tee ball). Deliver treatment components during large‑group instruction periods. Assist with evidence‑based reading interventions. Track daily behavioral progress and maintain accurate records. Implement behavior‑modification strategies including feedback, consequences, rewards, praise, time‑outs, and appropriate commands. Help establish and maintain a safe, positive, and structured environment for children with moderate‑to‑severe learning or behavioral needs. Assist in teaching sports fundamentals; sports experience is not required. Participate in training activities, role‑plays, and lectures during the initial two weeks. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Behavior Analysis, Social Work, or a related field plus experience working with children or adolescents in settings such as summer camps, after‑school programs, sports programs, daycare, or educational programs. Desired Qualifications Undergraduate‑level study in Psychology, Education, Behavior Analysis, Social Work, or related field; experience working with children or adolescents in similar settings; prior teaching, refereeing, or coaching experience.
