- Support and administer the plant non-conforming material process, including identification, documentation, and disposition of nonconforming products.
- Inspect and verify critical components, first articles, and finished assemblies, ensuring all required inspection records and documentation are complete and accurate.
- Ensure plant adherence to quality policies, procedures, and ISO 9001 requirements, and promote compliance across all operations.
- Maintain quality records in accordance with ISO 9001 standards, ensuring traceability and accuracy of inspection and test data.
- Serve as the plant resource for test and measurement devices and inspection techniques, providing guidance on proper selection and use.
- Perform receiving inspections on incoming materials and components, issuing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) when necessary.
- Handle duties that require substantial variety, judgment, and technical complexity in evaluating product quality and process performance.
- Act as a resource to others in resolving quality-related issues and problems, supporting timely and effective resolution.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to Quality Technicians and production personnel on quality standards, inspection methods, GD&T interpretation, and problem-solving techniques.
- Employ Continuous System Improvement (CSI) tools and techniques to identify, recommend, and help implement improvements to inspection and production processes.
- Ensure rejected materials are properly documented, segregated, and accounted for within the inventory management system.
- Make material accept/reject decisions based on inspection results and specifications, and disqualify test and measurement devices when appropriate.
- Review test equipment certifications and verify their suitability for specific applications and tolerances.
- Support internal and external quality audits and assist in implementing corrective actions to address findings.
- Demonstrate leadership skills when handling internal reports, working with executives and customers, managing deadlines, and using ERP and quality-related systems.
- During technical evaluations, clearly explain how to measure, cut, and adjust dimensions on GD&T drawings, including working with tight tolerances such as 13.8 ± 0.005 inches.
