Operations & Maintenance Supervisor (Belleville) Full Time Regular Belleville, WV, US AMERICAN MUNICIPAL POWER, INC. Job Description This position will report out of the Belleville Hydroelectric Facility. Position Title: Operations and Maintenance Supervisor Reports To: Director of Hydroelectric Operations FLSA Status: Exempt Basic Functions: Responsible for the daily operations, maintenance, compliance, and supervision of the Hydro Plant. Essential Functions: Responsible for all plant activities; develops work plans, leads, supervises, oversees plant safety, and develops staff. Coordinates the delivery of power from the plant to the electrical grid and ensures that the maximum power is delivered on a minimal interruption basis. Manages the overall maintenance of the plant including but not limited to: utilizing CMMS to initiate and track work orders, provide job plans, track asset expenses in both labor and materials, preventative maintenance; inventory control; and maintenance training programs. Oversees large maintenance and Capital projects, from the development of proposal requests (RFP) through execution of project work scope. Responsible for plant purchasing, ordering equipment and maintaining an adequate parts inventory which includes researching alternate parts. Assists in developing and maintaining plant operations and safety procedures. Conducts safety tailgates and risk assessments. Assures that start-ups and shut-downs of equipment are in accordance with plant safety procedures and incompliance with OSHA standards. Maintains the intake cleanliness, trash handling, and disposal procedures. Tracks and arranges proper disposal of refuse and hazardous waste. Assists in the preparation of operating budgets for the plant and related facilities. Tracks operating expenses to ensure budgets are not exceeded. Provides daily inspections of the plant and prepares outage reports, maintenance reports, and inventory control. Oversees the operations of high voltage equipment. Oversees maintenance on the transmission line to the operating company interconnection. Monitors equipment, instruments, tools and meters for malfunctions, adjustments or failures; notifies appropriate personnel of necessary maintenance as required. Utilizes historical trends for troubleshooting and reporting. Coordinates major outages with the Energy Control Center; contractors, corporate safety, Hydro Coordinators and Operators. Responsible for reporting dam safety concerns to the Dam Safety Coordinator. Must understand the dam's potential failure modes and dam safety monitoring plan. Interfaces with the public as needed and maintains the recreation facility. Maintains compliance with various state and federal regulatory agencies, preparing inspection reports, and ensuring implementation of compliance procedures. On call 24/7. Performs the duties of the Plant Operator as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications: Must have a two or four-year degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or engineering technology and one year of supervisory experience in plant operations, or five to ten years experience in power plant operations including supervisory experience. Must have familiarity with OSHA, FERC, NERC, and USACE requirements. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of power plant equipment and principles of operation. Has the ability to read instruction manuals, blueprints, logic diagrams, and schematics. Must have good problem-solving skills, and basic mechanical and electrical skills. Must have the ability to follow complex oral and written instructions and react calmly during plant emergencies. Must have knowledge of the operation and maintenance of control devices and recording/metering devices common to power plants. Experience with programmable logic controllers is a plus. Must be proficient with MS Office, email, Maximo, and other software. Excellent physical condition to work effectively in work conditions which include exposure to adverse weather, confines of a submerged plant, and be able to lift 65 pounds. #J-18808-Ljbffr
