Brooks' BBQ is looking for a full-time Prep Cook with experience who has a passion for food, is reliable and wants to join our team.
As an employee of Brooks' House of Bar-B-Q, you are joining a family and a team that has been in business since 1951. For the prep cook you will be on the team that supports the line cooks by preparing recipe ingredients. This is a great entry level job to move up the ladder quickly.
Brooks' BBQ is a family owned and operated restaurant and carryout business where the owner and managers are all hands on to ensure the customer's satisfaction and that the team is never left hanging.
To excel in this role, you should thrive in a fast-paced working environment. Being able to work irregular hours over the week; evenings, weekends and public holidays when needed is a requirement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for stocking ingredients from delivery area to work area, walk-in cooler, and storage
- Follow daily cleaning schedule
- Work and communicate effectively with co-workers and management
- Prioritize important tasks and manage your time effectively
- Washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and other meal prep
- Set up workstations and ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipe
- Undertake basic cooking duties, such as reducing sauces and parboiling food
- Prepare simple dishes, such as salads and entrees
Requirements:
- Friendly, reliable, and punctual
- Physically fit and able to work on your feet for long periods
- Ability to work irregular hours (day and night shifts)
- Enjoys working with people
- At least 18 years of age
