PRN (Backfill) Athletic Trainer Location: US-CA-Bridgeport Overview Cognito Systems, a Planned Systems International (PSI) joint venture, is seeking an athletic trainer to work at the Mountain Warfare Training Center in Bridgeport, CA for scheduled leave coverage. This role covers training for Marines with courses throughout the year in cold mountain environments, including sniper, radio, MQS, and larger level courses lasting over a month. Bridgeport is a small town with fishing and hiking, close to Lake Tahoe and Carson Valley. The lives of our nation’s active‑duty military depend on outstanding healthcare. Cognito Systems serves as a civilian contractor, and you will contribute to the United States Marine Corps’ Sports Medicine Injury Prevention (SMIP) Program, optimizing performance and readiness. Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities Be a part of the team : Cognito Systems, LLC is a Mentor-Protege joint venture offering high‑quality service to the military and veterans. Type of work : PRN‑Backfill, Monday‑Friday, 40-hour week (scheduled leave coverage). Location : Bridgeport, CA. Minimum Requirements How to qualify: Degree : Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training. Education : Graduate from an accredited college or university by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). Pass at the BOC for the Athletic Trainer and hold a National Provider Identifier (NPI). Certification : Unrestricted state license/registration/certification in any of the 49 regulated states, District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or US Virgin Islands, to provide healthcare within scope for Athletic Trainers. Experience : Recent experience as a licensed Athletic Trainer. Citizenship : U.S. citizenship. Credentialing : Ability to pass a background check and drug screen. Current physical and immunizations. Physical : Ability to lift and manipulate loads up to 20 kilograms (45 lbs). Job site requirements : Must be on premises; the environment is fast‑paced and multifaceted. Compensation $64,000 to $80,000 annual salary (based on hours worked) depending on experience.
