Job Description: The Senior Product Compliance Engineer supports the development of enterprise-wide programs and processes to support Product Compliance projects for the Software & Control business. This includes supporting projects to address product standards and certifications and regulations related to electrical safety, hazardous substances in products, EMC performance, energy efficiency, and end-of-life responsibilities. You will also work with New Product Introduction processes to ensure that Rockwell Automation products meet relevant regulations and certification requirements. You will report to the Engineering Manager and have a hybrid work schedule from Milwaukee, WI or Mayfield Heights, OH. Responsibilities Ensure completion of product development compliance deliverables including compliance assessment, design review, certification and test plan creation, documentation, and process implementation for new product development introductions. May serve as the primary product compliance interface with domestic and third-party safety agencies (such as UL, FM, TUV, etc.). Lead cross-functional projects of small- to medium-scale to enact changes to products and processes to ensure compliance with new or changed product environmental regulations and safety certification requirements. Work with Technology Standards and Conformance organization to monitor and analyze regulatory trends and share information with impacted business groups. Work with Strategic Sourcing and Rockwell Automation suppliers to ensure the supply chain is positioned and responsive to support RA compliance programs. Support external customers by addressing requirements for product compliance information. Influence business groups to incorporate regulatory and certification requirements into product designs for both legacy and new products. Monitor and understand complex regulatory and market drivers and their impact on product lines. Collaborate with business partners to assess risk and strategy for ensuring compliance of RA products. Present strategies to stakeholders and decision-makers to secure support for programs as necessary. Understand customer or business partner needs to bring strategic value and promote regulatory compliance as a driver for business goals and initiatives. Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities to accelerate time to market, reduce certification costs, and optimize projects. Ensure familiarity with company policies and procedures and apply them in compliance with government laws (e.g., Standards of Business Conduct, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, health, safety, quality and environmental regulations). The Essentials - You Will Have Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field. Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening. The Preferred - You Might Also Have Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of experience. Experience in Manufacturing/Development Engineering Organization, in an electronics manufacturing organization. B.S. Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Computer Engineering or related technical field with knowledge in basic engineering and manufacturing principles, theories, and techniques. Ability to frame and manage with high quality a large quantity of ambiguous or complex work. LSS or PMP certification. Experience in new product development, including using the Rockwell Automation CPD Process and knowledge of SAP. Familiarity with Rockwell Automation Control and Visualization products.
