Program Manager

Job Title: Program Manager Location: Remote Customer: 557th Weather Wing / 16th Air Force (Weather Weapons System) Job Summary: VSE Tek is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Manager (PM) to support the Air Force Weather Weapons System. The PM will support the core enterprise system components that impact cloud service availability and the mission applications needed for mission execution. The primary mission outcome is to provide operational readiness across climatology systems, data ingest pipelines, processing services, and operational web applications that are currently impacting mission execution. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end management of the program, ensuring that all project objectives are met, and deliverables are completed on time and within budget. Responsibilities: Provide overall management, technical leadership, and strategic directionBuild and sustain a positive, mission-focused program culture centered on delivery excellence and professional growthEnsure all internal requirements, deliverables, and reporting obligations are completed accurately and on timeCollaborate with stakeholders to synchronize operations and ensure requirements are met and/or exceededIdentify, track, communicate, and mitigate program risks ensuring issues are resolved in a timely mannerManage program cost, schedule, performance, staffing, and quality in alignment with contract prioritiesIdentify, evaluate, and integrate emerging technologies, relevant dual use technologies, and commercial off-the-shelf solutions to help remain competitive against our adversariesCollaborate with cross-functional joint-agency teams to define project scope, develop project plans, and manage project executionMonitor project progress, identify potential risks, and develop mitigation strategies to keep projects on trackEnsure that all project deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standardsCommunicate project status, progress, and risks to stakeholders and leadership regularlyContinuously improve program management processes and proceduresResearch and analyze emerging technologies relevant to the technology contract and assess their potential impact and benefitsStay updated with industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities for technology integrationConduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to evaluate the potential value and viability of adopting new technologiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, developers, subject matter experts, and mission operators, to gather insights and expertise on new technologies and the effectiveness of currently deployed technologiesEngage in strategic partnerships and establish relationships with vendors, suppliers, and technology providers to explore potential collaboration opportunitiesMonitor and evaluate pilot projects and proof-of-concept initiatives to assess their success and determine scalability and interoperabilityConduct market research and competitive analysis to identify potential gaps or areas for improvement in the existing technology contractCollaborate with human resources to assess staffing needs and identify additional Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) positions required to support contract requirementsPrepare business cases and present recommendations to senior management and stakeholders regarding the adoption of new technologies and the allocation of FTEsMonitor and track the performance of implemented technologies and measure their technology impactContinuously review and update the technology roadmap to align with evolving business goals and changing market dynamicsFoster a culture of innovation and collaboration within the organization, encouraging employees to contribute ideas and suggestions for technology advancements and improved resource allocation Additional Responsibilities: Facilitate collaboration with Government and industry partners to advance the program's goals and objectivesIdentify and engage with relevant partners to leverage their expertise and resourcesDevelop partnerships and collaborations to support the program's strategic objectives and initiatives. Manage relationships with partners and ensure that deliverables are met.Communicate with partners to provide updates on project status, progress, and outcomes. Work with internal teams to ensure that partners are integrated into the program's operations and decision-making processes.The ability to build strong relationships, collaborate, and communicate effectively with Government customers and stakeholders across the Department of War is essential to the success of the program. Degree/Education and Training RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field. Clearance RequirementsAbility to obtain or currently possess a security clearanceCertification RequirementsProject Management ProfessionalExperienceMinimum of 10 years of experience.Skills/Core Competencies Excellent leadership and communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholdersStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectivelyA blend of advanced technical expertise, strategic business acumen, and strong soft skills Military service or operational experience is a plus WORKING CONDITIONS Sitting at desk.
