Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Senior Chemical Process Design QA Engineer for a 12+ month contract with a Global Engineering Firm in Portland, OR. The role focuses on technical quality, design review, and engineering oversight, evaluating the work of others to uphold high standards across complex projects. Responsibilities Perform conceptual and detailed design for advanced manufacturing facilities. Use best practices and industry knowledge to solve complex engineering problems. Perform technical validation of calculations, specifications, and design assumptions to ensure consistency and defensibility of engineering work products. Perform quality reviews on designs performed by others. Mentor junior and mid‑level engineers on basic engineering applications and principles. Champion a culture of continuous improvement and attention to detail across all projects. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or a similar engineering discipline. At least 8 years of experience in a chemical process engineering role involving facilities design in advanced manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or oil & gas. At least one year of semiconductor experience. Experience with semiconductor facility systems. Experience with common building design software such as Bluebeam and Navisworks. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies, errors, or gaps in technical deliverables. Familiarity with construction deliverables including P&IDs, detail sheets, and calculations. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Coaching mindset for improving the quality of work with team members. Ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams with members in various regions. Pay range: up to $85.00 per hour.
