Job Title: Family Intervention Specialist Program: Intercept Location: Main Office 591 Lakehurst Road, Toms River New Jersey Position Type: Full Time Salary: Bachelors level $55,300.00 - Masters level $59,300.00 Job Description/Summary The implementation of Intercept offers a unique opportunity to become immersed in an evidence‑based program model to serve youth and their families, as identified through the Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P). The Intercept program serves a broad population of youth and families residing in Ocean, Monmouth and Mercer counties, including those involved with multiple child‑serving systems and those at high risk of removal from their families. Specialists carry a small caseload of five families at a time. Responsibilities Advocate for families in all systems they are part of, such as CP&P or CSOC, gathering information to develop interventions and advocating in the best interest of the child’s long‑term stability. Maintain a caseload of five families, providing individualized family sessions in home and community settings to safely keep youth at home; provide about three face‑to‑face sessions per week. Attend and actively participate in trainings, supervision, and professional development; follow up on feedback and recommendations from the Team Supervisor, Program Director, and Licensed Program Expert; adhere to all ethical and legal guidelines, including confidentiality and mandated reporting. Work flexible, non‑traditional hours based on the family’s availability; may work remotely but must attend in‑person program‑specific meetings and have own transportation for work purposes; provide after‑hours support on a rotating on‑call schedule and respond in person during crisis situations as needed. Transportation for families is not required but may be provided if other means have been exhausted; an agency vehicle may be used to provide transportation support. Competencies Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Adaptable with a flexible schedule. Receptive to constructive feedback and willing to implement new ideas and strategies during sessions. Practice a trauma‑informed philosophy in behaviors and communications, embracing it as a cultural value. Qualifications Education: Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field is preferred; bachelor’s degree in social services with one year of related experience in counseling and/or case management is required. Experience: Prior case management and/or counseling experience preferred. License: Valid New Jersey driver’s license in good standing. Bilingual in Spanish a plus; incentive $1,000.
