Job Purpose The purpose of the Food &Beverage Manager is to oversee, control and administer all Food & Beverageoutlets maintaining and exceeding Swati Hotels and Brand Standards in eachoutlet. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly or indirectly supervises associates and/or supervisors.Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization'spolicies, procedures and applicable laws. Responsibilities include but are notlimited to: interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning,and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and discipliningassociates; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Major Responsibilities Ensures that each Guest receives outstanding Guest Service byproviding a Guest friendly environment which includes greeting andacknowledging every Guest, maintaining outstanding standards, solid productknowledge and all other components of Guest Service. Empowered to guarantee total guest satisfaction, displayhospitality and professionalism to our guests at all times, take pride inrepresenting Swati Hotels professionally with our guests and assuring that alltransactions with guests are handled in a legal and ethical manner. Understands and apply all property safety and security proceduresto maintain a secure and safe environment for associates and guests at alltimes. In the event of an accident or emergency, gets medical attention ifnecessary and contacts the GM or Human Resources immediately. Maintains a favorable working relationship with all companyassociates to foster and promote a positive working environment. Essential Job Functions Understand and apply all hotelsafety and security procedures to maintain a secure and safe environment foremployees and guests at all times. In the event of an accident, get medicalattention if necessary and contact GM or MOD. Responsible for making sure aWorkerâ€'s Comp or General Liability claim is filed within 24-hours. Maintain an organized and efficient Food & BeverageDepartment. Determine, communicate andmonitor achievement standards and standards of performance on a timely basis. Handle disciplinary action and counseling sessions as necessary. Work in a fast paced andcustomer service oriented environment; perform duties under pressure and meetdeadlines in a timely manner. Help oversees operation of all food and beverage operations andkitchens. Knowledgeable of computerterminal, POS System, Delphi, and Time and Attendance. Attend BEO, Staff and Food& Beverage Meetings. Handle accounting for allpurchases and inventory. Analyze and monitor day-to-dayoperation reports, monthly and yearly financial statements, labor costs. Perform Special projects asnecessary for the General Manager and/or Resource Center. Communicate with other Managersregarding internal events. Handle planning and executionof hotel sponsored events as required. Taste food and beverageproducts from all areas, to ensure quality and consistency. Market ideas and promotions (strategies) in the F&BDepartment. Handle customers who are satisfied or dissatisfied with anyservice provided in the F&B area. Oversee all formal or informal disciplinary action regarding anyF&B associate. Monitor F&B Computer POS systems; Assists in monitoring of cashierprocedures. Accountable for beverage cost for outlets. Work job responsibilities of associates when business dictates. Handle Manager on Duty Responsibilities as required. Maintain communication with theExecutive Chef on developing and creating menus, culinary organization andprocedures. Other Duties and Responsibilities Complies with Company Standardsof Service as outlined for Swati Hotels. Projects a favorable image ofSwati Hotels to the public at all times. Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficientmanner in accordance with established company policies and procedures toachieve the overall objectives of this position. Treats guests, vendors,customers and co-workers with professionalism and respect at all times. Completes Departmental, SwatiHotels and Brand standards training as assigned. Maintains a clean and neatappearance at all times. Must be able to work flexiblework hours/schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays. Abide by all State, Federal andCorporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages tominors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are being followed. Must have previous management in aproperty of similar size and nature; must have Food & Beverage product andequipment knowledge. Certificates & Licenses Valid State Driverâ€'s License(anyone driving a Company vehicle or required to drive as a part of their job);Others required by Brand Standard and/or State Law. Computer Skills As required by Brand Standardand Company standards Language Ability Ability to speak effectivelywith customers and/or associates. Ability to write clearly and legibly. Math Ability Able to perform basic tocomplex math problems. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety ofconcrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral,diagram, or schedule form. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here arerepresentative of those an associate encounters while performing the essentialfunctions of this job. However, theassociate may be required to work outside in extreme heat, cold, rain, wind orinclement weather as the demands of the position so dictate.
