Pharmacist - Pharmacy Manager

Pay or shift range: $128,960 USD to $195,520 USD. The estimated salary range is provided in accordance with Virginia Pay Transparency requirements. Final salary offers are calculated based on job-related factors, including education, experience, location, shift, skills, specialties, and/or other relevant qualifications or criteria. Description As a member of the pharmacy leadership team, responsible for assuring that Pharmacy Services are provided in a safe and efficient manner resulting in positive outcomes for patients. Champions inter‑functional collaboration and communication across work areas and departments. With the Director, implements the strategic initiatives authorized by Chesapeake Regional Healthcare. The Pharmacy Manager has responsibility for all of the human, financial and informational resources allotted to pharmacy cost centers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities These duties and responsibilities described below represent the general tasks performed on a daily basis; other tasks may be assigned. Monitors and develops continuous improvement in management, inventory control, utilization management, and staffing efficiency while achieving quality outcomes. Coordinates and monitors the pharmacy systems and processes to achieve ongoing operational and service improvements. Responsible for all aspects of medication safety. Recommends cost containment programs, and policies and/or procedures to improve efficiency, economy, and effectiveness. Monitors productivity of employees and initiates modifications to improve productivity. Ensures delivery of pharmacy services within budgeted level of resources. Monitors annual operating budgets for the areas of responsibility, compares actual and budgeted activity and explains variances. Champions inter‑functional collaboration and communication across work areas and departments. Facilitates solutions to problems and resolves complaints regarding departmental services and activities. Provides in‑service education or drug information when needed or requested to health care professionals. Formulates departmental policy and procedure; ensures adherence to organizational and departmental policies and procedures and applicable state and federal laws and regulations. Plan and conduct meetings with team to ensure compliance with established practices, to implement new policies and to keep employees abreast of current changes in standards. Manage various employee actions including, but not limited to, hiring, scheduling, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions. Attend required hospital‑wide orientations, meetings, and in‑services. Demonstrate a commitment to flexible work scheduling when necessary to ensure patient care. Supervisory Responsibilities Reports to: Director, Pharmacy. Responsibilities: Budget, Scheduling. Preferred: Master’s in Pharmacy Administration. Experience Minimum of 3–5 years of hospital pharmacy experience in a supervisory position.
