Accountant Senior

Job Description The Sr. Accountant is responsible for providing financial support to the North American Ride Performance Hartwell, GA Operation by using technical and analytical ability to provide accurate and timely financial analysis, reports, and critical business insight. This position is responsible for plant cost accounting as well as general accounting functions. Duties and Responsibilities Manages standard costing for the plant; leads annual standard cost roll and creates/maintains standard costs for new products. Performs cost accounting processes in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and company policies to ensure accurate cost, inventory and financial statement reporting. Provides in depth analysis and completes cost bridges/walks; determines root causes of variances. Prepares and analyzes monthly sales and margins by customer platform. Identifies negative and low margin product. Provides Daily/Weekly/Monthly reporting of Expenses, PPV, OT, and Productivity. Updates KPI scorecards for performance measurement and analysis. Prepares and communicates insightful analysis for monthly operating reviews. Monitors accounting for scrap, inventory adjustments and establishes inventory reserves. Supports Continuous Improvement team with cost savings analysis of proposed projects and verification of cost savings for implemented projects. Works collaboratively and proactively with functional department leaders in controlling departmental costs. Assists in month end closings; prepares journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, and various financial reports. Participates in development and presentation of Annual Operating Plan and monthly forecasts with an emphasis on production related costs (COGS, PPV, absorption, scrap, etc.) and inventory. Supports a strong internal controls environment; participates and assists in internal audits; performs reviews and audits of plant controls. Assists with annual physical inventory; oversees actual inventory, verifies the count and valuation, and reconciles and analyzes the results. Demonstrates a commitment to achieving continuous improvement and total quality in the performance of all assigned duties and around the business. Supports management team with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested. Minimal travel. Required Skills Required Experience 2+ years of applied experience in a manufacturing setting Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Microsoft Excel experience is required. Required Qualifications Ability to work in a dynamic environment and meet demanding deadlines. Ability to set goals and deliver timely and accurate results for self. Communicate effectively with other functional areas and all levels within the organization. Excellent leadership and team skills.
