General Accountant 2

Roles & Responsibilities

Manage sales & use tax and property tax returns across legal entities
Compile and validate tax data ensuring alignment with the general ledger
Coordinate with business units, IT, and third-party tax consultants
Perform tax research and provide taxability guidance to stakeholders
Review, approve, and maintain tax exemptions in tax determination systems
Handle tax mailbox inquiries and respond within defined SLAs
File, pay, and track business licenses and tax refund claims
Support sales & use tax audits from initiation through completion
Maintain assigned GL account reconciliations and mitigate financial risk
Ensure accurate and timely tax payments to avoid penalties
Identify and implement process improvements within tax operations
Document and update accounting and tax procedures
Support departmental projects and cross-functional initiatives

Experience Required

2-5 years of experience in Accounting or Finance
Hands-on experience with tax compliance, audits, and reconciliations
Experience working in multi-entity or multi-state environments preferred

Skills & Certifications

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, charts)
Knowledge of GAAP accounting and SOX compliance
Experience with ERP systems
Familiarity with tax tools such as Sabrix or Vertex (preferred)
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Process improvement mindset (Lean / Six Sigma is a plus)

Eligibilities & qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
CPA preferred
ERP experience required
