JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Financial Care Counselor to assist in coordination of clinic service activities of two new Orthopaedic clinics to achieve continuous and optimal patient care.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Patient Service Associate (PSA) / Financial Care Counselor (FCC) functionality: Registration, arrive/check out visits, schedule follow up appointments. Oversee front desk personnel and provide assistance with aforementioned functions. Monitor registration, charge review, claim edit work queues and ensure they are cleared daily. Train new staff and educate current staff on new policies and procedures related to insurance/payer changes. Charge and reconcile professional charges daily. Assist Practice Administrator and Service Access Manager with customer service and billing requests. Review the daily appointment report for visit level authorizations, obtain as necessary. Cash management: close clinic batch and prepare deposit daily, submit batch corrections as necessary and perform monthly cash audits. Attend Monthly PSA/FCC registration meetings and dispense information timely regarding updates or changes. Serve as a resource point for questions regarding patient accounts, registration, insurance or billing questions.

JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Two years of experience working in a healthcare setting or billing and collections; or an Associate's degree in a healthcare related field and one year of experience working with the public; or a Bachelor's degree and one year of experience working with the public. Knowledge of Orthopaedics preferred. Customer Service experience preferred. Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 codes preferred. Experience with Charge Posting preferred. Proficient in Guarantor account maintenance (PB/HB) preferred. Presentation Skills.

JOB HOURS

The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
