Job Details

• Position Type: 8-hour shifts, rotating shifts to cover late discharges, with a schedule planned four weeks in advance for a six-week period.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS.
• Education: Current RN licensure required.

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of PACU experience preferred; strong candidates with less experience may be considered.
• Schedule: 8-hour shifts with a minimum of 40 hours per week, including weekday and weekend call rotations.
• Responsibilities: Managing general post-operative patient care, reading strips, assisting pre-op procedures, and managing patients under emergency and routine care conditions.
• Unit Notes: Unit covers Phase 1 in PACU and Phase 2 in the ambulatory care unit (ACU) for outpatient pre-op. RNs manipulate their own assignments, with no nurse aides on the unit. Floating to pre-op holding is required, with specific orientation provided.
• Additional Information: Some ICU recoveries may occur post-operation, especially for intubated patients transported back to ICU. The unit utilizes EPIC electronic medical records and provides scrubs for staff. Shift hours are 9 or 10 hours, with call response time of 30 minutes.
