Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Nights, 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct bedside nursing care in a stepdown/PCU unit serving a diverse patient population transitioning from ICU-level care
• Manage a patient assignment of up to 4 patients, collaborating with a virtual RN and CNA as part of a Co-Care/Virtual Nursing Model
• Care for cardiac patients including CHF, MI, ACS, cardiac arrhythmias, pacemaker patients, and post-procedural cardiac cases
• Monitor and manage respiratory patients including those on high-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP, tracheostomy (greater than 24 hours post-placement), and chronic home ventilators
• Provide care for overflow neuro, renal, and complex medical-surgical patients requiring higher levels of monitoring
• Float to lower-acuity units, renal care, neuro, and medical-surgical units as needed to meet facility staffing needs

Required Qualifications

• Active Alaska RN license in hand at time of offer (pending license accepted for submission; application including fingerprints, fee, and submittal must be completed within 48 hours of signing)
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in a PCU, stepdown, or comparable acute care setting
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health records
• Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility (locals not accepted at standard rate)
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 designated holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for cardiac populations including CHF, post-TAVR/MVR, and cardiac arrhythmia patients
• Familiarity with respiratory management including BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and tracheostomy care
• Experience working within a virtual or co-care nursing model
