Together, we're improving health and improving lives.LabCorp is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor to join our team at Henry Ford St. John Hospital in Detroit, MI Work Schedule: Shift 2, Monday - Friday, 2:30pm - 11:00pmJob Responsibilities:Supervise the day to day operations of the Core Lab departmentEnsure laboratory tests are accurately performed and results are reported in a timely mannerDirectly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel of the department Monitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate assay coverageResponsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffedResearch and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessaryEngage in continuous process and service level improvements Ensure all equipment is being properly maintained through Quality ControlPrepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documentsEvaluate new process improvements and make appropriate recommendationsMeet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development Perform bench work as needed and maintain proficiency/competency in technical operationsEnsure all work is in accordance with state and Federal regulationsResponsible for administering and managing policies and proceduresProcess and maintain payroll and personnel files, and administrative duties as neededMinimum Qualifications:Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology2 years or more of experience as a Technologist/Technician Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree2 years or more of experience supervising or leading a teamASCP or AMT certificationAdditional Job Standards:In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirementStrong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP and relevant state regulationsUnderstanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and proceduresProficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft OfficeStrong communication skills; both written and verbalHigh level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills Comfortability making decisions in a changing environmentAbility to handle the physical requirements of the positionAble to pass a standardized color blindness testAre you an experienced clinical laboratory professional looking for leadership opportunity?
