Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (6:30 PM – 6:30 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 33-bed ICU setting with an average daily census of 16, managing complex diagnoses including trauma, cardiac conditions, stroke, sepsis, renal failure, respiratory distress, and overdose/substance abuse cases
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2–3 for adult patients
• Titrate drips including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation medications
• Read, interpret, and document cardiac monitor strips using GE monitoring equipment, with tele tech oversight support
• Manage patients on respiratory support equipment ranging from nasal cannula to mechanical ventilation, including CPAP, BiPap, and high-flow oxygen
• Float to PCU or occasionally MedSurg as needed, maintaining comparable patient ratios (1:4 or 1:5)

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must successfully pass a unit-specific open-book skills exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; compliance is required for the duration of the contract
• If placed on call and called back in, must be able to arrive within 30 minutes
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; a valid driver's license is required at time of submittal for verification
• Must not be currently employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) at any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity Health

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior ICU experience with exposure to high-acuity diagnoses such as post-stent care, pacemaker placement, vascular cases, and heart failure
• Experience titrating a variety of drips in a critical care environment
• Familiarity with GE cardiac monitoring systems
