Registered Nurse (RN)

The Registered Nurse (RN) partners with residents and other care providers to create a safe and comfortable therapeutic environment by providing direct and indirect care.

Unit Information

• 3 East: A specialized 31-bed unit caring for residents with Alzheimer's and dementia. This unit focuses on tailored care that meets residents' needs using both verbal and non-verbal communication techniques. It aims to understand and validate the behaviors that may arise in residents with Alzheimer's and dementia, providing the necessary care in a home-like setting.
• Transitional Rehabilitation Unit: Located on the second floor, this 42-bed unit provides short-term skilled nursing and rehabilitation services to patients recovering from various conditions, including fractures, joint replacements, back surgery, strokes, and other short-term illnesses or injuries. Nursing services include IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment and management.
• 3 West: A 42-bed long-term care unit providing essential care to residents requiring long-term placement in a supportive home-like environment.

Job Requirements

Associates in Nursing required. Valid State of Maine or compact RN license is necessary. A minimum of 1-3 years of previous experience as an RN is required.

Other Skills Required:

• Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential.
• The ability to work effectively within a team of care providers is crucial.
• Flexibility to cover shifts 24/7 and to float to other units as needed.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience that demonstrate proficiency in the required areas may be accepted.

Shift Information

Days (7 AM - 7 PM) with holiday coverage required.

Certifications / Requirements

Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is required.
