Independent Contractor, Senior Level Therapist (SLT) Pay Rate: $100-114.32/hour. Part time: Est. 4 hours/month per client Location: Norfolk County (Braintree, Foxboro, Newton, Norwood, Randolph, Walpole), Metro Boston (Allston, Brighton, Brookline), and surrounding towns. Description This is a role working as an Independent Contractor with children who are enrolled in the Massachusetts Autism Waiver Program. The Autism Division of the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) administers the Children’s Autism Waiver Program (AWP) which provides one-to-one interventions to help children with autism who exhibit severe behavioral, social and communication challenges through a service called Expanded Habilitation, Education (intensive in-home services and supports). This service occurs in the child’s home or other natural settings under the supervision of trained clinical staff and is available for a total of three years. AWP also provides related support services such as community integration activities and respite. At the conclusion of the three years of intensive services, a child may access supplemental services that meet the child’s needs and help with the transition out of the intensive AWP until the child’s 10th birthday. Roles and Responsibilities The senior level therapist develops programs, positive behavioral support plans, data collection procedures, visuals or other materials for the autism waiver program based on the goals provided from the autism support broker. Positive behavioral supports must be used in all programs. Least restrictive method should always be used. Restraints are prohibited except in an emergency situation. All restraints must be reported to an Autism Support Broker and Clinical Manager within 24 hours. All programs and plans should be based on the goals and objectives in the participant’s Autism Support Plan. When appropriate, goals can be updated by contacting an autism support broker or autism clinical manager. The senior level therapist is responsible for training and supporting the other providers on the implementation of programs, behavior plans and data collection. The senior level therapist must provide at least one hour in the participant's home every month. The senior level therapist is responsible for working with families to encourage generalization of skills. Some of the contracted hours may be used outside the participant's home to develop programs, make visuals or other materials, and write quarterly reports. The senior therapist is responsible for writing a data-based progress report every quarter for each participant. That report should contain graphs of the data to show the participant’s progress on the objectives over the quarter. Every three months, a quarterly meeting is scheduled with the autism clinical manager, autism support broker, parent/guardian and the senior therapist to review the report Requirements Option 1 Requirements Doctoral Degree in psychology, medicine, or related field Applicable License 1500 hours of training including course work in positive behavioral supports, learning and behavioral therapy, child development, and a range of comprehensive interventions for children with autism 2 years of experience in a lead role in designing and implementing behaviorally based therapies for children with ASD Experience using data-based decision making, including data collection and analysis Option 2 Requirements Master’s Degree in psychology, education, or related field Applicable License 2000 hours of training including course work in positive behavioral supports, learning and behavioral therapy, child development, and a range of comprehensive interventions for children with autism. The relevant training may be part of the advanced degree program. 3 years of experience in a lead role in designing and implementing behaviorally based therapies for children with ASD (4yrs required if one-year MS/MA/Med program) Experience using data-based decision making, including data collection and analysis Maintenance of professional skills through 8 hours of on-going training about ASD and supervision annually #J-18808-Ljbffr Independent
