Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to laboring patients in a Level 2 Maternity unit, supporting patient choice and promoting vaginal birth opportunities. Collaborate with a dedicated team to ensure a high-quality, personalized birth experience while maintaining safety and compliance standards.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive obstetric care to laboring patients, including monitoring fetal well-being and managing labor progress.
• Support and educate patients throughout labor and delivery, promoting patient preferences and informed choices.
• Administer medications and interventions such as MgSO4, nitrous oxide, and others per protocol.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including midwives, CRNA, and OB physicians, to ensure seamless patient care.
• Document all clinical activities accurately using CPN and Meditech systems.
• Float to other units as needed, supporting staffing needs and maintaining optimal patient care standards.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license with current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications.
• Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of labor and delivery nursing experience.
• Possess advanced skills in fetal monitoring and obstetric procedures (e.g., IUPC, FSE).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with a focus on patient safety.
• Support a laborist model, providing personalized, patient-centered care.
