Treasury Analyst

Position The Department of Revenue's Business and Financial Services (BFS) Division invites applications for a Fiscal Analyst 1 in the Treasury Management Office, Tumwater, WA. This essential worker position is office‑based only. Responsibilities Process mailed‑in documents, batch check payments, and process returned refund warrants. Process and reconcile tax documents. Analyze and process refund warrants returned to the agency. Create, process, transmit, and reconcile daily cash journals. Respond to inquiries regarding payments and business processes. Qualifications Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, with demonstrated ability to use these tools to complete work tasks accurately and efficiently. Ability to perform high‑volume numeric data entry by touch, with a track record of speed and accuracy. Experience working cooperatively in a fast‑paced team environment, contributing constructive feedback and solutions. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information clearly to both financial and non‑financial audiences. Physical ability to lift or move boxes or materials up to 25 pounds. Experience processing large quantities of fiscal data, reviewing, organizing, and reconciling high‑volume financial or transactional information. Self‑motivated learning, curiosity about self and others, and the ability to apply new knowledge to improve government programs. Customer‑service orientation, flexibility, and empathy in responding to the unique needs of coworkers and the public. Preferred Qualifications One year of experience as a Fiscal Technician 3 OR One year of professional‑level accounting experience. College‑level education in accounting or a related field (substitutes for experience).
