Job Opportunity – Critical Care Float Pool RN – Ohio

Start Date: October 19, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, Night shift. Contract must extend through January 2, 2027. Minimum every-other-weekend coverage required.

Highlights:

• Float to multiple critical care units based on staffing needs and patient acuity, including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICU, Medical ICU, CVICU, and Cardiology/Diagnostics units
• Work with diverse patient populations including transplant patients (kidney, liver, lung, heart), post-cardiac surgery, CVA/stroke, and multisystem organ dysfunction
• EPIC charting system utilized across all units
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, physical therapy, and radiology
• Float only to units of equivalent or lower acuity based on facility policy
• Travel nursing assignment with competitive compensation package

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (required)
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record system
• Demonstrated competency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and ventilator management
• Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
• Valid RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Two professional references required, including at least one manager or formal leadership reference
• Skills required: arterial line management, central line care, blood product administration, vasoactive drip titration, BiPAP/CPAP management, high-flow nasal cannula, interpretation of dysrhythmias and ABGs, and care of ventilated patients
