Senior Estimator – Power Delivery, BESS & EPC Construction

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Estimator to lead cost estimating for complex power delivery and utility-scale infrastructure projects, including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), substations, transmission lines, renewable energy, and EPC/design-build projects .

This role is responsible for developing accurate and competitive estimates from conceptual through final proposal, partnering with engineering, operations, procurement, and business development teams. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in high-voltage electrical estimating and utility-scale construction projects .

Key Responsibilities

• Lead estimating for BESS, substations, transmission, and utility-scale electrical projects
• Prepare conceptual, budgetary, and detailed cost estimates
• Perform quantity takeoffs and review engineering drawings/specifications
• Develop labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and indirect cost estimates
• Build bid summaries, cost models, and proposal packages
• Analyze project risk and support bid/no-bid decisions
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, operations, and project teams
• Support vendor pricing, procurement strategies, and market analysis
• Mentor junior estimators and support process improvement

Required Experience

• 10+ years of estimating experience in electrical construction, utility infrastructure, EPC, or power delivery
• Experience estimating:
• • High-voltage substations
  • Transmission and distribution projects
  • Utility-scale electrical systems or renewable energy projects
• Experience with EPC or design-build delivery models
• Proven ability estimating large projects ($5M–$500M+)
• Strong understanding of construction means/methods and labor productivity

Preferred Experience

• Utility-scale BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) estimating
• Renewable energy / interconnection projects
• Knowledge of ERCOT, NERC, or utility interconnect requirements
• Field construction experience
• Certifications (CEP, PSP, PMP, or similar)

• SAP or ERP estimating systems (preferred)
