Phlebotomist - Float

Position Overview

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to join our team at 400 Patroon Creek, Albany, NY. Work schedules are Monday – Friday (7:30am–5:30pm) with rotating Saturdays (7:00am–12:00pm). The position may require travel to additional sites.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program, or at least 3 months of experience as a phlebotomist.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience.

Additional Job Standards

• Certification or training program must be from an accredited agency.
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Must pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record with reliable transportation.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Compensation and Incentives

• Pay Range: $17.75 – $20.00 per hour.
• PST Incentive Plan may provide a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
• Float Incentive: Additional $1.00 per hour plus mileage reimbursement.

• Employees scheduled for 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), PTO or FTO, Tuition Reimbursement, and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
• Employees scheduled for less than 20 hours, casual, intern, and temporary employees participate only in the 401(k) plan.
• Employees on a 7 on/7 off schedule receive all benefits except PTO or FTO.
