Foundry Furnace & Die-Casting Cell Setup SpecialistSite: Sheboygan, WI — Onsite | Union | Gardner Denver Thomas (1419 Illinois Ave., Sheboygan, WI 53081)Shift: 2nd Shift, Monday–Friday, 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.Your missionPicture a production line that never stalls—because you’ve planned the melt, timed every pour, and tuned each cell for precision. In this role, you’ll be the guardian of molten metal flow: operating and inspecting furnaces, delivering aluminum to the right machine at the right time, and stepping in to set up die‑casting equipment so the line keeps moving.How you’ll win the dayRun furnaces to melt aluminum ingots and scrap, adjusting temps and charging per direction.Oversee the schedule for molten metal distribution to machines; keep central melt temperature stable and supplies uninterrupted.Assist with cooldowns; check furnace linings and distribution ladles for cracks/defects; support repair activities.Perform material handling; operate lift trucks safely and efficiently.Set up die‑casting cells when required, including ladle systems, auto‑spray, robots, and trim presses; swap dies and fine‑tune machine settings.Model safety leadership while filling ladles, driving lift trucks, and pouring metal during machine set‑ups to protect teammates.What you bringHigh school diploma or equivalent (technical diploma a plus).At least 1 year of forklift experience with a valid license.Work realitiesHigh heat, dirt, grease, fumes, and >85 dB noise (hearing protection required when exposure exceeds 85 dB).Physical capability to lift/push/pull/carry: 5 lbs constantly, 35 lbs frequently, 75 lbs occasionally.Frequent movement: sit, stand, kneel, climb, bend, stoop.Tools and gear: lift truck (power/hand), shovel, furnace cleaning, skimming/fluxing tools, hand tools, hoist, and required PPE.Risks include serious cuts, burns, bruises, and possible permanent injury—goggles and heavy gloves are mandatory; vigilance minimizes hazards.Preferred edge1+ year proven furnace operation knowledge across cleaning, operation, and maintenance.Comfort working from written/verbal instructions under general supervision; seeks guidance on unusual procedures/irregularities.Die‑casting environment experience prior to hire or assignment.Skills to highlightDriver's LicenseDie Attach/BondingFoundry Environment ExperienceMetal Casting ExperienceTool/Die/Mold Repair SkillsInjection Molding ExperienceTool/Die/Mold Setup ExperienceBasic Computer SkillsOnsite presenceThis position is based at our Sheboygan, WI facility.Join a company built to last—and to innovateIngersoll Rand couples 160+ years of industrial leadership with the drive of a startup.
