Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Long Term Care position in Alaska, requiring an active AK RN license and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Work in a Long Term Care facility with 40 staffed beds
• Patient ratio of 1:20
• Shifts available in 4x12 or 3x12 variable schedules, traveler's choice
• Day and night shifts offered, with shifts remaining consistent (not rotating) once assigned
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• 13 or 26 week assignment length, traveler's choice
• Uses ECS charting system

Requirements

• Active AK RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Prior LTC experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)
• LTAC experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Skills required: respiratory care, oxygen administration, IV therapy/medication administration, peripheral line care, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Must be willing to obtain Alaska Food Worker Certification during onsite orientation (one-time $10 fee)
• 2 references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required
• Must provide proof of Hepatitis B vaccination or willingness to be vaccinated/obtain medical exemption

Additional Information

• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as locals are not accepted
• No more than 2 weeks of RTO considered for a 26-week contract, and all RTO must be submitted with initial application
• Must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
• Preference given to travelers willing to work any holiday
• Scrub color is not restricted
• Facility may arrange a rental vehicle for traveler's use during the assignment, subject to eligibility requirements including minimum age of 25 and valid driver's license and insurance
• Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not be within 50 miles of the facility
• Travelers may work a maximum of 1 calendar year in this assignment before requiring a 6-month break to return
