Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Community Emergency Department position requiring ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS certifications and an active VA or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a Community Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patient populations
• 13-week assignment on night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:30 to 07:00
• Uses Epic charting system
• Floating may be requested based on facility needs
• Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and management of dysrhythmias
• Care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Administers emergency medications and performs IV therapy/phlebotomy

Requirements

• Active RN license (VA state or compact) required in hand
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSS through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic charting experience required with no exceptions
• Specialty experience within the last year required
• Skilled in starting and maintaining IVs
• Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias required

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care in a fast-paced community ED setting
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Previous permanent employees must have a gap of at least 6 months before returning as a travel employee
• Requested time off should be minimal, with no full calendar weeks off preferred and no more than 7 days total during the assignment
• All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of initial application and cannot be added after an offer is extended
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
