Job Title: Civil Design Technician (3D Modeling & Permitting)

Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Civil Design Technician to join our infrastructure project team. In this role, you will be responsible for translating engineering concepts into precise 3D models and professional contract drawings. You will work within a distributed project environment, collaborating with department members and project managers to ensure design accuracy and regulatory compliance.
This is an ideal role for a technician who is highly proficient in 3D modeling and comfortable managing the technical documentation required for the permitting process. Key Responsibilities
Design & Drafting
• 3D Modeling: Develop detailed 3D models for civil infrastructure projects, ensuring spatial accuracy and adherence to project-specific design standards.
• Documentation: Assist in the creation of comprehensive contract drawing sets, including plans, sections, and details required for construction and regulatory review.
• Coordination: Maintain effective communication with project stakeholders, including internal department members and leadership, to resolve design conflicts and clarify project requirements.

Permitting & Standards
• Regulatory Support: Utilize your experience with permitting processes to help prepare and organize documentation necessary for project approvals.
• Quality Control: Maintain high standards for drafting and modeling, ensuring all deliverables are complete, accurate, and ready for review.
• Project Workflow: Participate in project coordination meetings, providing updates on drafting progress and technical hurdles in a remote/distributed team setting.

Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience Baseline: 2+ years of professional experience specifically in civil engineering design.
• Technical Mastery: High proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is mandatory.
• Regulatory Exposure: Familiarity with civil permitting processes and documentation requirements.

Preferred Attributes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills-you can clearly articulate technical drafting questions to engineers and managers.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote/distributed team environment, utilizing digital collaboration tools to stay aligned.
• Reliable work ethic with a focus on delivering high-quality design work on time.
