Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) care in Burlington, Vermont. This position involves providing specialized care for critically ill patients in a large, teaching healthcare facility. The assignment is a temporary opportunity requiring candidates to demonstrate extensive ICU experience and skill in managing complex patient needs. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of the assignment.

Job Details:

• Location: Burlington, Vermont
• Specialty: ICU (Intensive Care Unit)
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Start Date: July 13, 2026
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of ICU unit experience, prior travel experience required, must have large, teaching facility experience
• Certifications and Education: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) prior to start; CCRN preferred
• Required Skills: IV insertion, maintaining and managing multiple titrating drips, critical ventilator care, experience with multi-system disease, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), intra-abdominal pressure bundles (IAPB), Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), COVID-19 patient care, ventilator management, multiple drips, EPIC electronic medical records experience from within the past 2 years
• Additional Information:
  • No block schedules; work days include Monday through Sunday
  • Bi-weekly orientation session scheduled for 7/27
  • Must explain any employment gaps over 90 days
  • Complete employment history including bed count, EMR system, and facility type required for submission
  • Reliable personal or rental transportation is strongly recommended; vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires from November to April
• Float: Float rotation may be required among ICU and overflow units such as SICU, Miller 3, and Miller 4
