Relay Settings Engineer

Overview Leidos' Power Delivery Solutions (PDS) division is hiring a Relay Settings Engineer to join our diverse and fast‑paced Framingham, MA organization. As a core team member, you will interact with other electric utility disciplines and play a valuable part in leading and designing utility substation and renewable energy projects. Hybrid or Remote: Fully remote is available for candidates with relay settings experience. Hybrid is two to four days a week in the Framingham, MA office. Responsibilities Work with protection engineers and perform quality reviews on relay setting packages. Create logic diagrams for IEC61850 substations. Work directly with clients as well as other staff in remote office locations. Support a full range of project planning activities through design and construction support. Prepare relay settings from 4.16 kV through 500 kV including relay set points, logic diagrams, configuration files, and documentation. Solve challenging substation engineering problems. Qualifications Associate Level: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) and internship experience. Intermediate Level: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) and three plus years of related experience. Must be willing to travel to customer sites and in‑office / testing lab as needed. Experience creating relay settings and logic diagrams. Capable of understanding Aspen OneLiner and/or Siemens CAPE for coordination studies and fault study analysis. Preparation of protective relay coordination studies. Ability to learn development of relay settings for microprocessor relays including SEL, Alstom, GE, ABB and others for both transmission line relays (Line Differential, Step Distance and Pilot Schemes) and substation relays (Capacitors, Transformers and buses). Familiarity with Schweitzer AcSELerator QuickSet, General Electric EnerVista and Schneider Electric MiCOM software is a plus. Strong engineering and interpersonal skills and high attention to detail with a passion for quality. Experience implementing control and protection schemes including interpreting schematics and wiring diagrams and preparing relay logic to complete the schemes. Preferred Qualifications Experience preparing technical reports. Experience understanding power system protection. Ability to travel overnight on an occasional basis. Ability to effectively work in a fast‑paced team environment. EIT/PE License.
