Wireless Engineer

Job Description

• Responsible for designs, projects, and expansion of wireless networks at locations within the DC-MD-VA area and nationally (Less than 10% travel)

• Utilize working knowledge of wireless network infrastructure, signal propagation, advanced troubleshooting wireless interference, optimizing coverage, spectrum analysis, etc

• Utilize understanding and comprehension of network protocols and switching, TCP/IP, FTP/ UDP, STP, VPN, etc

• Provide technical root cause analysis or requirements summaries to the team and management using fundamental network terminologies

• Troubleshoot CISCO routers, switches, wireless access points, uninterruptible power supplies, firewalls, etc

• Activate and configure CISCO switches, routers, NICs, LAN ports and diagnose configuration issues using command line and prompts on the switch and or endpoint device

• Create network and closet diagrams and able to decipher network topologies

• Use industry standard wireless network tools to perform wireless surveys, create designs, produce analysis reporting

Salary range: $75,000-$85,000

Skills and Requirements

• CCNA or CCNP

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

• 3+ years of wireless network administration experience

• Ekahau, Cisco Insider, wireless survey tools - CCNP Wireless Enterprise certification

• Ekahau Design certification

• Experience with Monitoring Tools (i.e Sitescope/Sciencelogic) and ServiceNow
