Position Summary


Seeking a Systems Engineer to support the design, compliance, and delivery of PreConditioned Air (PCA) units and airport ground support equipment. This role bridges engineering, compliance, and project execution - owning technical deliverables from initial design submittal through project closeout, while directly supporting sales with customer-facing technical guidance.
Key Responsibilities Compliance & Submittals

• Develop and maintain compliance matrices against customer specifications (e.g., Section View phone number on click.appcast.io 37) and applicable standards (CE Machinery Directive, LVD, EMC, FAA Buy America / 49 USC 50101)
• Prepare design submittal packages, including scope of supply documents, technical data sheets, and deviation/RFI tracking
• Support Declarations of Conformity and third-party inspection response processes

Design & Engineering Calculations

• Perform thermal and psychrometric cooling load calculations to support unit sizing and selection across aircraft code categories
• Create and maintain fabrication packages, including drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation

Sales & Customer Support

• Serve as technical point of contact for customer inquiries during pre-sale and post-sale phases
• Support proposal development with technical inputs, unit selection, and specification compliance review
• Resolve field and technical issues raised by customers, coordinating with engineering and manufacturing as needed

Project Oversight

• Own assigned projects from technical kickoff through completion, tracking milestones and material gate dates
• Coordinate across engineering, procurement, and manufacturing to ensure on-time, compliant delivery
• Maintain project documentation and status reporting for internal and customer stakeholders

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related field)
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in systems engineering, product engineering, or technical project engineering
• Working knowledge of thermal/cooling load calculations and psychrometrics
• Experience with BOM/ERP systems (e.g., Business Central) and CAD/documentation tools
• Strong written communication skills for technical documentation and customer-facing correspondence • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines

Preferred

• Knowledge of refrigeration system design (compressors, VFDs, refrigerant circuits) - Copeland, Danfoss, or similar platforms
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks (CE, FAA, NEC, ASHRAE)
• Exposure to PLC-based control systems
• Experience with airport ground support equipment or aviation industry specifications (ATA Spec 101)
