Job Title: Operating Room Technician Job Summary
Under general direction, the Operating Room Technician provides skilled support in surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and maintaining a sterile environment. The technician anticipates the surgeon's needs, assists during procedures, and contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the operating room team.

Under general direction, the Operating Room Technician provides skilled support in surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and maintaining a sterile environment. The technician anticipates the surgeon's needs, assists during procedures, and contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the operating room team.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow infection control policies and demonstrate expertise in surgical scrub and aseptic techniques.
- ssist surgeons with gowning, gloving, draping, and passing instruments during procedures.
- Maintain an organized operative field and ensure all instruments and supplies are clean, accounted for, and in proper place.
- ccurately track and manage counts of sponges, needles, and instruments.
- Prepare surgical cases by assembling necessary supplies and equipment, identifying potential issues beforehand.
- ssist in suturing, retracting, and suctioning under the surgeon's direction.
- Handle and label specimens according to policy.
- Promote patient and staff safety by identifying potential hazards in the operating room.
- Participate in OR turnover efficiently and support colleagues as a resource.
- Respond to on-call duties, including emergencies, within required response times.
- Perform additional responsibilities as requested by OR management.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA, HSI, or client.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Surgical Technologist or in an operating room is preferred.
- Familiarity with OB, Gynecology, General Surgery, and Orthopedic cases; Cesarean experience preferred.
- bility to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Typical schedule Monday-Thursday, with rotating on-call shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to respond promptly to emergencies when on-call.
