HR Assistant

LaSalle Network is partnering with a dynamic leader in the retail industry to find a Benefits Assistant / HR Operations Assistant to join their collaborative Human Resources team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys helping people, is comfortable working with technology and wants to build their career in HR.


In this role, you'll support day-to-day HR operations, employee questions, administrative processes and benefits-related activities. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented and adaptable, with the ability to learn multiple HR systems and follow established processes.
This is a hybrid, temporary-to-hire opportunity with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.



Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day HR operations and administrative processes.
  
  
• Process and approve employee terminations within the HRIS.
  
  
• Partner with store leaders to address questions and updates related to time, HR processes and employee information.
  
  
• Monitor and respond to employee inquiries through a shared HR inbox.
  
  
• Assist with benefits-related administrative tasks and employee questions.
  
  
• Support onboarding and other employee lifecycle processes.
  
  
• Maintain accurate employee information across multiple HR systems.
  
  
• Assist with compliance-related processes and documentation.
  
  
• Follow established SOPs and ensure recurring processes are completed accurately and on time.
  
  
• Assist with basic reporting and data updates in Excel.
  
  
• Collaborate with HR team members and internal stakeholders to resolve questions and issues.
  
  
• Support additional HR projects and administrative responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous HR experience is preferred, but not required .
  
  
• Customer service, administrative or operations experience is also valuable.
  
  
• Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software and systems quickly.
  
  
• Comfortable working in multiple platforms and remembering system navigation and processes.
  
  
• Experience with HRIS, benefits or onboarding platforms is a plus.
  
  
• Basic Excel skills, including sorting, filtering and adding/removing columns.
  
  
• Strong organization and attention to detail.
  
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  
  
• A customer-focused mindset with a genuine interest in helping employees.
  
  
• Ability to follow established procedures and manage recurring weekly responsibilities.
  
  
• Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a broader HR team.

Systems you may work with include: UKG, BenefitFocus, iCIMS, AbsenceSoft, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams and Excel.
