For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.Primary Responsibilities:Design, code, test, document, and maintain high-quality and scalable big data solutionsIdentify gaps and opportunities for improvement of existing solutionsDefine and develop APIs for integration with various data sources in the enterpriseMake accurate development efforts to assist management in project and resource planningCollaborate with management, quality assurance, architecture, and other development teamsWrite technical documentation and participate in production supportParticipate with prototypes as well as design and code reviewsKeep skills up to date through ongoing self-directed trainingThe ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can learn things quickly, who is enthusiastic and actively engagedYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience3+ years of hands-on software development experience2+ years of development experience with Scala, Python, JSON, Web Services2+ years of experience in relational databases (SQL)Experience with Agile/SCRUM methodologyPreferred Qualifications:Experience in infrastructure services on at least one major cloud platform (Azure preferred)Experience in distributed systems technologies like Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, SnowflakeExperience working with Docker and KubernetesThorough understanding of service-oriented architecture (SOA) concepts*All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter PolicyPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
