At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget./ppJob Purpose/Overview/ppThe Parasitology Laboratory Aide is responsible for the collection, processing and preparing of fecal samples./ppEssential Duties and Responsibilities/pulliCollect fecal specimens from login, scan into loads, and prepare for set up./liliMeet all minimum department requirements for para loads and Fcombo set-up rates./liliAccurately building loads and label processing tubes/liliSplit specimens for Giardia ELISA when required/liliFind missing specimens. Print and reconcile queue list/liliMaintain organization of storage refrigerator/liliMaintain all equipment including hoods, centrifuges, etc./liliAwareness of quality control and calibration/liliCrosstrain and develop knowledge of multiple specialties within department/lab./liliFollows applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including safety and quality procedures. Maintains clean and organized work area. Restocks supplies as needed/liliParticipates in improving lab efficiency, quality, and cooperation./liliConsult with senior peers on non-complex Parasitology tasks to learn through experience./liliPerforms other duties as assigned./li/ulpWe share a collaborative obligation to ensure that we conduct ourselves in the utmost ethical manner and that we hold each other accountable to the values and standards of the organization. Antech Diagnostics has several processes in place to communicate with leadership and expects that Associates will have a commitment to integrity and uncompromising values./ppEducation and Experience/pulliHigh school diploma or equivalent/li/ulpKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities/pulliAttention to detail and organized with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment/liliAbility to work independently and as part of a team/liliCommunication skills, both verbal and written/liliProficiency in the English language which allows for participation in team meetings, accurate entry of data into company systems and understanding of written directions/liliPositive, can-do attitude/li/ulpWorking Conditions/pulliStationary Position- must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 2 hours./liliConstantly operates lab equipment accurately and efficiently/liliOccasionally required to bend, kneel, stoop, or crouch/liliRequired to lift, move, and carry up to 20 lbs./liliThe ability to observe details at close range/liliExtended hours may be needed/liliLaboratory environments with potential biohazards present that are mitigated by the mandatory use of PPE/liliReceives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new assignments/liliWork under close to moderate supervision/liliPotential for exposure to agents known to cause zoonotic disease in humans and use of potentially hazardous chemicals as defined by the National Hazard Communication Standards.
