About the Position

Job Title: Emergency Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS required; TNCC preferred Must-Have: Experience in both adult and pediatric emergency care. Description: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS are required. TNCC is preferred. The role requires experience in a combined adult and pediatric emergency department. Common diagnoses include STEMI, Stroke, sprains, sutures, and high acuity patients. Pediatric patients are seen in all zones; there is no separate pediatric area. The nurse must be able to work both evening and overnight shifts. The nurse should have experience with drips, including routine vasopressors, insulin, and sedation. The staffing ratio is typically 4:1 but may stretch to 5:1 during peak census times. Weekend expectations include working 6 shifts in a 6-week rotation. The required scrubs are navy blue. Floating to other locations may be necessary. Epic access is needed for this position. Holiday expectations include availability for the 4th of July (day and evening shifts).
