Senior Architect, Cloud Platform

Abbott seeks a Senior Architect for Lingo's cloud SaaS platform, which processes biosensor data and delivers personalized health insights. The role involves owning end-to-end platform architecture, leading design decisions, mentoring engineers, and integrating AI capabilities while ensuring security and scalability for millions of consumers.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end cloud platform architecture and maintain alignment with product and business goals
- Define architecture principles, reference designs, and standards for services, APIs, and infrastructure
- Lead architecture and design reviews, document decisions, and manage technical debt and trade-offs
- Design data ingestion pipelines for biosensor and user data with accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
- Architect secure APIs and backend services connecting mobile applications to cloud platform
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related technical discipline
- 10+ years software engineering experience with 5+ years as architect or principal engineer
- Proven experience architecting cloud-native backends serving mobile applications at consumer scale
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architectures, and API design
- Strong production experience with Azure cloud services or equivalent platforms
- Experience designing data storage and processing for high-volume or time-series data
- Experience integrating ML or AI services into production systems with reliability considerations
