Job Description
Join Our Dynamic MedSurg/Infectious Disease Team!

Job Description:


- Position: MedSurg/Infectious Disease RN
- Shift: 12-Hour Nights (1900-0730), weekends as scheduled
- Unit Notes:
- 18 Private Rooms, all due to Infectious Diseases
- Patient Ratios: 1:5-6 (1:4 if Covid) with typically 3-4 RNs per shift
- Experience Required:
- Strong background in MedSurg and Infectious Disease
- Proven experience with Isolation precautions
- Epic experience is mandatory
- Patient Population:
- Diverse cases including Infectious Diseases, Isolation, COVID, MRSA, C-Diff, etc.
- Skills Required:
- Knowledgeable in titratable and set rate drips; familiar with Heparin and common MedSurg IV medications, antibiotics, etc.
- Support Staff:
- 2 CNAs per shift
- Charge Nurse available 24/7 (Night charge maintains full patient assignment)
- Technology:
- Remote Telemetry monitoring; RNs are not required to interpret strips
- Cpap/Bipap management by RT (No vents)
- Shifts & Scheduling:
- 12-Hour Shifts with a 30-minute lunch break
- Flexible scheduling with block options as needed
- Weekend Requirement:
- Every-other-weekend commitment (Nights: Fri/Sat/Sun)
- Floating Requirements:
- Travelers may need to float to other MedSurg units; assignment based on skillset
- Dress Code:
- Royal Blue scrubs; scrub jackets optional (must be royal blue)
- Orientation:
- 1 Day of EPIC orientation, followed by 1 day with a preceptor, and then 3rd day independently
