Summary of Essential Duties:

  • The Echo Sonographer I is an entry level position that assists physicians in performing basic Echocardiographic imaging and other procedures.
  • Performs ultrasound imaging technologies for cardiac patients in an in-patient and out-patient setting.
  • Assists with detecting issues related to blood flow and heart ailments and escalates appropriately to physicians as they develop diagnoses and design patient treatment plans.
  • Receives mentorship until able to exercise competency in the use of all related ultrasound equipment and imaging protocols.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe patient environment and ensures that the room and equipment are prepared functional and stocked for assigned procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound program required
  • License/Certifications: BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required RDCS from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography or RCS issued by Cardiovascular Credentialing International preferred or willing to obtain within one year from start date
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer preferred Applicants with at least 3 years of experience may be considered as an Echo Sonographer II
