Job Description:

This position involves providing care in the PCU unit for adult patients with a variety of diagnoses including CHF, ARF, pneumonia, sepsis, and more. The RN will be responsible for direct and indirect patient care and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Cardiac and vasoactive drip titration
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation and IV starts
• Blood product administration and CIWA
• Drain/tube management and catheter insertion/management
• Insulin drips management and continuous bladder irrigation
• Effective verbal and written communication

Requirements:

• Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing
• Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Minimum experience of 1 year in PCU or Telemetry

No. Minimum one prior travel assignment Traveler must reside >100 miles outside of facility Permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler Patient Types: Complex ICU patients ranging from surgical, medical, cardiac (preferred), neuro and trauma Diagnoses include: ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, s/p cardiac cath, post-surgical, multiple system trauma – heavy trauma population Cardiac experience is preferred (not required): CABG/TAVR – 24 to 48 hrs post op experience is preferred but not required for travelers Will not take fresh open hearts unless they are experienced, and the facility felt comfortable with this – given to permanent staff Patient Ratios: RN: 1:1, 2:1, 3:1
