Assistant Athletic Trainer Under the direction of the Head Athletic Trainer, the AssistantAthletic Trainer is responsible for providing direct athletictraining services to the student-athletes and assistance for theathletic health administration for the Curry College'sintercollegiate athletic training program. Curry College is looking to hire multiple Assistant AthleticTrainers. Essential Functions: Under the direction of the team physician and head athletictrainer, provide the medical services for injuries and illnessesincidental to student-athletes participation in intercollegiateathletics including but not limited to return to playdecision-making; Prevention, evaluation and treatment of athletic injuries orillnesses including but not limited to concussion management; Provides game and practice coverage including days, nights,weekend, holiday and travel coverage; Maintain appropriate record keeping and documentation; Collaborate with physicians and other allied healthprofessionals to deliver appropriate care and referrals tostudent-athletes; Provide counseling, education and testing to student-athletes,coaches and parents regarding athletic injuries and illnesses; Process insurance claims; Recognize injuries and illnesses needing further medicalattention and referring to appropriate providers; Assist with the daily operations and maintenance of theathletic training facilities; Assist Head Athletic Trainer with administrative duties asassigned; Assist with inventory and ordering of supplies; Maintain certifications and licensure as required by theNATABOC and state of MA; Engage in professional development and continuing education tomaintain certification standards. Additional Functions: Respect and maintain confidentiality, parameters of operation,professional protocols, and individual privacy. Assist with the supervision and education of studentemployees. Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor ortheir designee. Job Requirements: Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a sports related discipline accredited bythe Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education(CAATE). Certified by the NATA BOC. MA State Athletic TrainingLicensure. Familiarity with NCAA governing rules. Emergency CardiacCare (ECC) certification at the Basic Life Support/ProfessionalRescuer level or beyond. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to function in a service- and team-orientedenvironment. Ability to function independently, display strong attention todetail, work under pressure, meet deadlines and prioritize multipleprojects. Ability to travel locally and overnight as requested. Must have a valid driver's license. Ability to work on nights, weekend and some holidays asrequested. Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree from a curriculum athletic trainingprogram. One to two years experience with athletic training coverage ofice hockey and football. Salary Range: $50,000-$55,000 over 10 months.
