Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a Magnet-recognized, Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center, requiring an active NY RN license and NIHSS certification.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit within a 528-bed acute care teaching hospital
• Night shift, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required, if needed
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Floating required within skillset
• Epic experience required for charting
• Client may cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract without penalty

Requirements

• Active New York Single State RN license required (pending licenses not accepted; NY is not a compact state)
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and Rapid Response/Code team response
• Experienced in nasal cannula and oxygen administration, oxygen tank use, and non-invasive airway management
• Experienced in IV therapy, phlebotomy, peripheral line care/management, and isolation precautions

Additional Information

• Provide med/surg telemetry nursing care with cardiac monitoring and emergency response duties
• Scrub colors limited to navy blue and white combinations
• Hospital is Magnet-recognized and certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center
• Facility is affiliated with Cleveland Clinic and Roswell Park, offering specialized services through the Sands-Constellation Heart Institute, Lipson Cancer Institute, Neuroscience Institute, Pediatric & Young Adult Emergency Center, and Twig Birthing Center
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• RN candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted, though local LPN candidates are accepted
