Job Summary:
A Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) is needed at a healthcare facility located in Renton, Washington. This position involves providing specialized care to premature and critically ill newborn patients in a level 3 NICU. The role demands clinical expertise in neonatal support and the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week, starting on 08/03/2026
• Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as an RN, at least 2 years of experience in NICU, certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Basic Life Support (BLS). Practical experience in caring for gestations down to 32 weeks or greater than 1500 grams, with skills in handling equipment such as NC, HFNC, CPAP, NAVA, conventional ventilators, and feeding pumps.
• Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Extremely premature or premature infants, BPD, HIE, feeding intolerance, respiratory support, sepsis/meningitis, NOWS/ESC, hyperbilirubinemia.
• Experience or 'Must have' skills: Ability to care for neonates with gestations down to 32 weeks or greater than 1500 grams.
• Shifts & Scheduling: Night shifts, 3-12s per week, with a 4-week schedule.
• Additional Information: No nurse aids on this unit; staff will float to pediatric care for NICU graduates or behavioral health patients and assist with well-baby care. Nurses will read strips and titrate drips including BP drugs, TPN/D10, and insulin. The unit has a Neonatologist available 24/7 but no ARNP/PA. Equipment includes HFOV, HFJV, conventional ventilators, CPAP, HFNC, NC.
• Charting System: EPIC
• Certification Requirements: Must hold valid NRP and BLS certifications.
• Experience Requirement: Minimum of 2 years experience in NICU.
• Additional notes: Unit is a Level 3 neonatal ICU with specific orientation requirements and a policy allowing cancellation of up to 3 shifts per month.
