Here’s what the opportunity supported through our TGS Talent Acquisition Team requires: This position is responsible for leading the technical architecture solutions for complex software applications. The role will guide the development of solutions while working cooperatively with a dedicated team. This individual will help the delivery teams to develop robust, secure, and scalable solutions that drive value for clients and align with enterprise modernization objectives. The role focuses on hands-on technical tasks and solution engineering, with minimal delivery support responsibilities. This role may require occasional travel, such as a kickoff week for a long engagement. Key Responsibilities: • Develop, recommend, implement and manage the technical architecture used for applications in a large, distributed and cross-platform environment. • Responsible for designing, documenting and implementing the components, software and layers required for complex software implementations based on requirements and design specifications. • Work with the software development team to estimate, plan, design and deliver software. • Mentor and coach other team members in design, coding and software engineering practices. • Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback for continuous improvement. • Understand the architectural direction and standards of the organization and help to ensure that the team adheres to them appropriately. • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from initial requirements gathering to delivery. • Lead the initial architecture elaboration effort at the beginning of the project and supports the initial requirements collection effort (particularly when it comes to understanding and evolving the non-functional requirements for the solution). • Guide evolution of the architecture throughout the construction of the application. • Establish, promote and govern the standards and practices used across software development projects. • Participate in pre-sales activities, including development of proposed architecture and estimation of work effort. • Rapidly learn and apply new patterns and technologies to meet evolving solution requirements. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree /4-year college degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience • 10+ years of software development experience. • 5+ years of development experience in Java. • 2+ years of experience as an Architect. • 3+ years of experience with AWS • Experience with Microservices & Serverless Architecture • Hands-on experience across all layers of enterprise application development, from backend services to front-end interfaces. • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, messaging, and integration patterns • Strong experience with AWS, including cloud native design patterns, security/identity, networking, deployment scalability, and cost awareness • Hands on knowledge in various AWS services like ECS, EKS, Lambda, Event Bridge, S3, DynamoDB, System Manager, API Gateway, ACM, Route53, Cloud Watch, etc. • Strong hands-on scripting skills (e.g. Python, Bash, PowerShell) • Experience with source code management and CI/CD tools, preferably GitHub, GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, and CodeBuild. • Deep expertise in Java including refactoring mature codebases, performance tuning, and framework evaluation • Hands on contributor through prototyping, reference implementations, deep code reviews, and critical path development • Experience working with an Agile methodology and iterative development. • Experience with practices such as unit testing, static analysis and build automation. • Experience in mentoring and coaching employees. • Excellent communication skills and leadership skills. • Sets expectations for responsible AI tool usage across teams, including validation, security, and IP/privacy considerations • Nice to have 1+ year of cloud migration experience • Nice to have - Exposure to AI/ML frameworks and awareness in implementing AI code development tools. • Nice to have - Associate level AWS certification (Solutions Architect, CloudOps Engineer, or Developer) Desired Qualifications • Professional level AWS certification (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or specialty) • Have strong interpersonal skills such as effective listening, empathy and patience. • “Embrace the Unknown” ability - be able to research and self-learn new concepts and ideas and then share them with the rest of the technical team. • Expert in handling incidents/change requests ranging from at all levels of complexities with the instinctive ability to identify when to escalate an issue to the next level of support. • Ability to prioritize/assign tasks, for themselves and/or more junior team members, in the most effective manner in order to deliver solutions in a timely manner of high quality. • Ability to effectively document/design complex software design approaches and suggest alternative solutions. • Ability to report team metrics of tasks assigned/completed (when applicable).

This is a Permanent position based out of Baltimore, MD.

The pay range for this position is $128000.00 - $192000.00/yr.

We reserve the right to pay above or below the posted wage based on factors unrelated to sex, race, or any other protected classification.
