Welder 1 - MFG

Job Title

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Welding and fabrication using oxyacetylene or electric welding equipment.
• Lay out, cut, file, and prepare materials for welding.
• Fabricates a variety of regular and irregular parts.
• Perform various fit up and welding processes in all positions.
• Use plasma torch for trimming fittings.
• Verify conformance of work piece to specifications.
• Other duties as assigned. Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide on the job training to new employees as needed.
• Follow all safety and health policies and procedures issued by the company.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read tape measure accurately.
• Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• Basic press skills preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials up to 50 pounds. Machinery and tool operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, steel toed work boots, and gloves.

PPE REQUIRED

• Safety glasses, ear protection, steel toed boots, and gloves. Use of grinder/cutting torch or welding equipment requires face shield or goggles.
