Assistant Professor of Clinical - Anesthesiology

Employment Requirements Eligibility: Completed US-approved residency in Anesthesiology or equivalent training and certification. Board eligibility or certification in Anesthesiology required (equivalence may be determined on a case-by-case basis). Research experience is highly desirable but not required. Job Description Generalists should feel comfortable performing a variety of cases, including orthopedics, GYN, community OB, abdominal cases, general vascular, and kidney transplants. Generalists are NOT required to perform cardiac cases or treat children under 2 years of age. Limited skills in regional anesthesia and ability to anesthetize older children are helpful. Applicants should be comfortable supervising residents, CRNAs, and SRNAs, and performing cases independently when required. Applicants should participate in the department’s academic activities, including teaching and mentoring trainees, and attending departmental conferences and faculty meetings. Call: expected 3‑4 overnight calls per month (some may be from home). Evening and weekend calls may also be needed. Effort distribution may vary based on department needs, candidate’s interests, and success in obtaining extramural grant funding. Compensation Compensation depends on years of experience and determination of professorial rank at the time of hiring.
