About the Role

ProTrade is hiring an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee a heating system removal and replacement project at a secure federal facility in Derby, Vermont. You’ll work on behalf of an established commercial general contractor and report directly to their Project Manager.

This is a leadership role, not a labor role. You’ll be the GC’s eyes, ears, and voice on site. You’ll keep subcontractors coordinated, quality high, and the PM informed. The project runs about six months, and more projects are expected in the same building over the next several years.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee day-to-day site operations for a mechanical/HVAC replacement project
• Coordinate and communicate with subcontractors to keep work on schedule and to spec
• Serve as on-site quality control, catching issues before they become problems
• Keep the Project Manager informed with clear, timely updates, with no surprises
• Handle routine site issues on your own and escalate when appropriate
• Represent the general contractor professionally with the facility owner and on-site personnel
• Perform light site duties as needed, such as laying protective plastic, site protection, and cleanup

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a Superintendent or Site Supervisor on commercial construction projects
• Solid working knowledge of construction sequencing, subcontractor coordination, and quality control
• Mechanical/HVAC background strongly preferred, but not required
• Strong leadership and the ability to work independently without day-to-day oversight
• Clear, professional communicator who keeps people informed without overcommunicating
• Reliable, accountable, and sound in judgment
• Must live within reasonable commuting distance of Derby, VT. Lodging is not provided.

Requirements

• Must be able to pass a federal background check
• Must be able to obtain a federal PIV credential (the process is facilitated after hire)
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• No trade license required
